It’s a day full of promise for Team India at the Asian Games 2023. Athletes are set to make their mark across a range of sporting events, from gymnastics and boxing to basketball and cricket.

In gymnastics, Pranati Nayak will take to the mat for the women’s division one qualifiers. She is expected to deliver an outstanding performance, attracting the attention of fans and judges alike.

Boxing also promises an action-packed lineup. Arundhati Choudhary will face Liu Yang of China in the round of 16 in the women’s 66kg division. Deepak Boria will face off against Abdul Qayyum Bin Arifin of Malaysia in the men’s 50kg round of 32, and Nishant Dev is scheduled to face Dipesh Lama of Nepal in the men’s 71kg round of 32.

The basketball court will be full of action as the men’s and women’s 3×3 teams take the spotlight. The women’s team will face Uzbekistan in a two-legged match in Group A, while the men’s team will go head-to-head with Malaysia in Group C.

Cricket fans can look forward to the women’s gold medal match where India will take on Sri Lanka. The match is expected to be an exciting encounter between the two cricket-loving countries.

In chess, popular players Vidit Gujarati and Arjun Erejesi in the men’s section and Koneru Hampi and Harika Dronavalli in the women’s section will participate in the individual rounds 3 and 4.

The handball will feature a women’s Group B preliminary round match between India and Japan, which is expected to be very exciting.

The focus will shift to judo with Garima Chaudhary taking part in the women’s under 70kg medal event. Rowing offers a range of medal events, including the men’s singles sculls, the A final featuring Balraj Panwar and several team events.

In sailing, several athletes will compete in different qualifying races. The shooting range will host the men’s 10m air rifle and 25m rapid fire pistol events, featuring a strong Indian team led by Rudranksh Patel, Aishwari Pratap Singh Tomar and others.

The swimming pools will be a spectacle with Srihari Nataraj, Manna Patel and other promising athletes taking part in a number of heats and finals. Tennis will also be in full swing with Ankita Raina, Rohan Bopanna and others in multiple singles and doubles matches.

The day concludes with intense Wushu action, as Norem Rushibena Devi, Surya Bhanu Partap Singh and Vikrant Balyan will take part in the women’s and men’s 60kg 1/8 finals.
