‘Banned from..’: Shikhar Dhawan shares emotional post on son Zoravar’s birthday, says he hasn’t seen him for a year – Magazine Creations

Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan on December 26 posted an emotional message on his son Zoravar’s birthday and revealed that the cricketer has been banned from contacting his nine-year-old son.

In his heartbreaking message on Instagram, Dhawan mentioned that he is proud of the baby and shared a picture of his video call with Zoravar.

Earlier, Dhawan and his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee separated after a failed marriage. The court officially granted the divorce in October this year.

The court granted the divorce, citing the “cruelty” to which the famous Indian cricketer was subjected by his estranged wife. Judge Harish Kumar also accepted Dhawan’s claims, which included accusations of remaining separated from their son and pressuring them to make financial decisions.

The court specifically ordered Ayesha Mukherjee to facilitate bringing her son to India for visitation purposes, including staying overnight with Dhawan and his family, especially during school holidays.

However, it seems that Dhawan is currently facing challenges in establishing relationships with his son.

“It’s been a year since I’ve seen you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere, so I’m posting the same photo to wish you, my boy, a very happy birthday. Even if I can’t communicate with you directly, I’m communicating with you.” Through telepathy. I am so proud of you, I know you are doing a great job and growing well,” Dhawan wrote.

“Daddy always misses you and loves you. He is always positive, and waits with a smile for the time when we will meet again with God’s grace. Be naughty but not destructive, be giving, be humble, compassionate, patient and strong. Even though I don’t see you, I write letters to you almost every day.” “I ask you about your health and your daily life, and I share with you what I am doing and what is new in my life. I love you so much.”

Dhawan’s petition:

In his petitions, Dhawan claimed that Mukerji’s obligations to her previous marriage and daughters residing in Australia created physical and emotional distance during their eight-year marriage. HT reported that Mukherjee pressured him to invest heavily in Australian real estate.

Surprisingly, Mukerji neither contested the allegations nor defended herself in court. Despite obtaining a divorce, the court refused to rule on permanent custody of their son and allowed Dhawan to spend time with Zoravar in India and Australia, including sleepovers and video calls.

Dhawan and Mukerji separated in 2023. Neither of them has commented publicly on the divorce.
