With just two weeks left for this year’s exhilarating sporting tournament, Pakistan faced a setback as injured speedster Naseem Shah was ruled out of the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup in India.
On September 22, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
Beginning their World Cup journey, being held in India this time, Pakistan will take on Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

This time, Pakistan is aiming for its second Cricket World Cup title. However, their favorite and talented speedster Naseem Shah will not be able to offer his services as Hasan Ali has been named in the team as Naseem’s replacement.
Shah’s absence is a big blow for Pakistan, citing his exceptional ODI record, with 32 wickets at an average of 16.96 with two five fours in ODI cricket.
Shah suffered a nagging injury during Pakistan’s Super Four match against India in the Asia Cup. He was out of action midway through his tenure and later dropped from the competition.
Despite Shah’s absence, the Pakistani team boasts a roster of talented players including skipper Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Salman Agha. Young duo Mohammed Haris and middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel are also among the participants.
Having two all-round bowlers Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz in the team is a bonus. In addition, Salman Agha and Iftikhar Ahmed are also available for the all-round bowling. Osama Mir is another option available for the Pakistani side.
The famous Pakistani pace attack will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi. He will be supported by Haris Rauf, Mohammed Waseem and Hassan Ali.
