The much-awaited warm-up match, ahead of the 2023 ICC World Cup, between India and England in Guwahati was called off due to heavy rain on September 30.

Despite Indian skipper Rohit Sharma winning the toss and deciding to bat, the Indian batsmen could not even play the ball, as rain continued to fall in Guwahati and it was abandoned.

According to the details, the rain started ten minutes before the start of the match, turned into thunderstorms and did not subside. The authorities had stated that the deadline for the start of the match was 7:30 pm and had reserved an additional 90 minutes to clarify matters, but the rain had other plans.
