India vs Australia T20I: Matthew Wade struggles to accept defeat amid umpire error, says ‘It was good to..’ – Magazine Creations

India vs Australia, 5th T20: Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh had a thrilling final over defending 9 runs as India snatched a certain win from Australia by 6 runs. With their win in the fifth T20, India showed their dominance as they won the series comprehensively 4-1. Australian captain Matthew Wade was not happy with the results and said that it was difficult for him to accept the defeat. Some questions were also raised about the umpire’s decision in the fifth match between India and Australia especially during Arshdeep Singh’s final over.

“It’s hard to take it right now after not being able to send us home,” Wade said of the loss. “I think we played relatively well. We held them overall and probably should have been chased down this ground. It’s very disappointing. It would be great to get the result tonight. I think 3-2 would have been a reflection of where the series has been.” .

The Australian skipper was right when he said his team played well. Team India’s batting order collapsed against Australia’s fiery pace. Light rain changed the court conditions and the ball was not coming right onto the bat. Barring Shreyas Iyer (53) and Axar Patel (31), no batsman could do much at Bengaluru’s ground.

Team India did well in the bowling as spinner Ravi Bishnoi (2/29) and spinner Mukesh Kumar (3/32) showed their magic against the deep Australian batting line-up. It eventually came to the end when 10 runs were needed and Matthew Wade was on strike.

Exciting ending

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav introduced Arshdeep Singh for the final and the first ball of the final was subject to intense discussions. Arshdeep Singh started with the keeper and the ball flew over Wade’s head but the referee did not let it go wide. Matthew Wade expressed his shock at the decision and was clearly not happy about it.

The Australian skipper then tried a powerful shot on the second ball, but it fell straight into the hands of Shreyas Iyer. Arshdeep Singh managed the rest of the run well and India won by 6 runs. Australia are looking forward to the T20 World Cup in June, Matthew Wade said.

“There is always temptation [to move up the order]; It’s been talked about but we’re looking forward to the World Cup. My job is to bring us home in situations like tonight. Wade added: “It was good to get the result, but we learned and I thought Ben McDermott bounced back, and Behrendorf, Dwarshuis and Sangha made an impact in the difficult conditions.”
