India vs Netherlands: Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja or Japreet Bumrah; Who is resting today? Rahul Dravid says… – Magazine Creations

The well-rested Indian team takes on Netherlands in the final match of the league stage of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup today. The Men in Blue are the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far and are at the top of the World Cup points table. After the match against the Dutch on Sunday, Rohit and his teammates will meet New Zealand in the semi-finals which may prompt the team management to rest some of the key players in the team against the Dutch today.

Some of the key decisions that might weigh on the mind of skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid are resting veteran batsman Virat Kohli, KL Rahul or even the captain himself. In terms of bowlers, Rohit might consider resting veteran pacer Jasprit Bumrah, or one of the spinners Kuldeep Yadav or Ravindra Jadeja.

During the pre-match press conference on Saturday, the Indian coach explained the team management approach in resting key players for the match against Netherlands.

“We have had six days off from the last match. So, we are well rested and the players are in good shape. That’s all I will say without giving away the form. So, we have had six days off, and we have one game to go before the semi-finals,” Dravid said. “The boys are resting. So that’s all I’ll say.”

“You’re at the pointy end of the Championship now. So now at this stage, it’s just about focusing on getting the players you think are going to start in the best space possible mentally and physically to be able to do that.” We will play the semi-final and hopefully we will play the final if we win it. So this will be the only thinking that is not related to it, there are times there are times to think about the bigger picture and there are times to think about the narrow focus in my opinion and now is the right time and the Indian coach added: β€œDefinitely the narrow focus on thinking if everyone is ready.”
