IPL 2024 Auction: From Shardul Thakur to Manish Pandey, top Indian players to watch out for – Magazine Creations

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction will be held in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena on December 19, making it the first ever auction to be held abroad.

“The player auction list for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has been revealed, which includes 333 cricketers set to go under the hammer in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena on December 19, 2023,” the IPL said in an official statement.

Here are some of the Indian players who may attract huge bids during the auction:

Shardul Thakur

The mid-range pacer released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of their player retention list is likely to see huge interest among the 10 franchises. Shardul Thakur’s ability to take wickets at crucial points and his handy strokes with the bat make him an exciting prospect for all teams. It has kept its base price at $2 Crores.

Umesh Yadav

The veteran player who has represented Team India over the years has been released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). It has kept its base price at $2 Crores. His ability to take wickets while playing the power play makes him an exciting prospect but the thing that teams will be wary of is his age and fitness to play all 14 matches in the league.

Harshal Patel

Another middle-order pacer who was with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been released by the franchise and other teams may look to bring him into their side due to his ability to deliver slower deliveries which is a crucial expectation in t20 matches. It has kept its base price at $2 Crores.

Manish Pandey

Pandey, an in-form right-handed first-order batsman, scored an unbeaten 114 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Deccan Chargers in IPL 2009. He became the first Indian to score a ton in IPL. After joining Royal Challengers Bangalore for the first three seasons of the IPL, Pandey was signed by Pune Warriors ahead of IPL 2011 and continued his stint with the team even in IPL 2013 before being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL Player Auction 2014. He has been one of the vital members In the KKR squad and has a lot more experience under his belt. Shivam Mavi is definitely one of the most exciting young fast bowlers. After an impressive outing in the Under-19 World Cup, Mavi was quick to attract attention in the IPL auction and was eventually picked up by KKR for Rs 3 crore. He made his IPL debut for KKR in 2018 but took just 5 wickets. A stress fracture in his back has kept him out of competitive cricket since December 2019 and after spending most of his time rehabilitating, Mavi was fit and ready to take part in the 2020 edition. Chetan Sakarya

The player from Saurashtra will be looking forward to his maiden IPL season after he was bought by RR for INR 1.20 Crores during the player auction ahead of IPL 2021. He has kept his base price at $50 lakh.

Karun Nair

Karun Nair exploded into the public consciousness when he smashed an unbeaten 303 against England in Chennai in a Test match in 2016. He became only the second Indian to score a triple century in Test cricket, joining Virender Sehwag in the elite club. A consistent and technically correct batsman, Nair made a name for himself during a dream run for Karnataka in domestic cricket over two seasons from 2013 to 2015. Although he started out at Royal Challengers Bangalore, Nair later made a mark in the Indian Premier League while playing . For Rajasthan Royals. He later represented Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). Right-arm spinner Siddharth Kaul was part of the Indian team that won the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia. He played a crucial role in the team’s victory and has since been creating buzz in the local circuit. Kaul has represented Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the past but has been a regular member of the Sunrisers squad since 2017.
