‘Kuch to chahiye yaar…’: Rohit Sharma’s epic response when asked if the South Africa series can make up for the World Cup – Magazine Creations

India vs South Africa, 1st Test: As Team India gears up for the Boxing Day Test match against South Africa at the SuperSports Park in Centurion, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma addressed a press conference and spoke on a range of issues. Rohit Sharma answered questions on how the team will recover from the World Cup loss and how the pitch conditions will hold up to the Indian seamers.

When a reporter asked if winning the South Africa Test series could make up for a World Cup loss, Rohit Sharma smiled and said: “We have been playing in South Africa for many years now and it will be a great achievement if we win the series. But I am not sure it will heal our wounds in “The World Cup or make up for that loss.”

“The young players in the team are very enthusiastic and they are Itna mehnat kiya hai, how to chahiye yaar abhi (They want something after a lot of hard work) and they are right because they have worked hard in the last few months.”

South African courses are known as racers’ paradise and this makes choosing Indian courses crucial. With four players in the squad, Rohit Sharma gave some clarity on the playing XI dilemma and said that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will definitely play the first Test.

Mukesh Kumar vs Prasidh Krishna

However, he hinted at a possible selection dilemma between Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna for one of the fast bowling slots. The captain confirmed that the majority of the team formation has been completed, and the remaining decisions are scheduled to be taken during the team meeting.

While talking about the World Cup loss, Rohit Sharma said that one needs to find a way forward and noted that he received a lot of encouragement from the outside world.

“With the way we played in the World Cup, you would expect us to go all the way. We worked hard for the cup. There are certain things we didn’t do well in the final. It’s difficult after a loss like that. But you’ve got to find a way to move on.” Moving forward and looking forward. We got a lot of encouragement from the outside world. It motivated me personally. As a batsman, I bat as best I can. Whatever I have in front of me, I will “look forward to it,” NDTV quoted Rohit Sharma as saying.
