The MotoGP Bharat 2023 is all set to officially begin from today, i.e. September 22, at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The three-day event will be the biggest motor racing event held in India after Formula 1.
The Indian Grand Prix will feature 82 riders from 41 teams vying for the top titles in MotoGP, Moto 2 and Moto 3 over three days. The event is scheduled to start at 9 am today and viewers can stream the event live on the JioCinema app.
Most concerns about the safety of the riders ahead of the opening MotoGP round in India are unfounded as they look forward to racing at the Buddh International Circuit. The track, which hosted Formula 1 races from 2011 to 2013, was modified to suit the requirements of two-wheeled bicycle racing. The modification includes extending gravel traps around the track to make it safer for riders if they go off it. Air fences and foam barriers were also installed to ensure passenger safety.
The Formula 1 track layout has 16 turns at the Bahrain International Circuit but the MotoGP track will have 13 turns. The track has one of the longest straights on the calendar, making it possible for riders to reach the record speed of 370 kilometers per hour.
