Babar Azam is a senior player in the Pakistan national team. But in this World Cup, his big goals have not led to victories. Afridi spoke about this on Sama TV channel. According to him, fans expect Babar to win matches for Pakistan. But this does not happen.
In the 2023 ICC World Cup, Babar made three fifties. But Pakistan lost every time he crossed the fifty mark. He scored 50 goals against India, 74 goals against Afghanistan, and 50 other goals against South Africa. Pakistan lost all these matches.
On the other hand, Pakistan won when Babar scored less. He made only 5, 10 and 9 runs in matches against Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Afridi believes Babar should turn his good starts into big results. This could help Pakistan win. Babar’s wicket was a crucial moment against India. His team struggled after his exit. He was also out having made slow fifty against Afghanistan and South Africa.
