With the help of Israel specialized dog unit, Oketzsoldiers discovered and stormed a tunnel built by Hamas terrorists in southern Gaza City, an IDF spokesman said Friday.
Video released by the IDF to X post on Friday showed the army’s four-legged unit hard at work.
The video captured the dog, which was attached to a camera, walking along the horror tunnel, which included an elaborate tunnel system.
The tunnels included command and communication rooms, warehouses, hideouts, as well as water and electricity infrastructure.

Israel’s military said the route was a “multi-level structure” inside the Palestinian city.

The IDF boasts one of the most sophisticated fighting forces, having integrated artificial intelligence in many of its activities, but some tasks still require an old-school approach. This is where the Oketz unit makes its mark.
“There are a few types of dogs used by the unit, some are confidential, most of them are types [shepherds],” an officer known as “Major A,” commanding dog warfare school for the Oketz unit, told Fox News Digital.

“They are used for three main reasons: tactical dogs used to identify enemies, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) dogs to find explosives and others, and search and rescue dogs who have been vital in this war in Israel and Gaza.” said Major A.
