World Cup 2023: The Pakistani national team was infected with viral fever before facing Australia, and Shaheen Afridi was affected – Magazine Creations

Pakistan team is affected by viral fever ahead of the crucial match against Australia in Bengaluru. The match will be held on Friday and is important for both teams to advance in the tournament. Some Pakistani players had fever in the past few days, but most of them have fully recovered, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board statement.

While Pakistan won two matches and lost one, Australia just opened their winning record against Sri Lanka, before losing to India and South Africa. Pakistan lost their previous match to their rival India as well.

PCB Media Director Ahsan Iftikhar Nagi said on Tuesday that most of the Pakistani players who contracted viral fever after arriving in Bengaluru have recovered although some of them are still under medical observation.

The Pakistan team arrived in Bengaluru on Sunday after a seven-wicket defeat to arch-rivals India in Ahmedabad the previous day.

The Garden City has seen several cases of viral fever in the past few months, although it is possible that a weather change led to minor health problems for members of the visiting team.

“Some of the players had fever in the past few days and most of them have completely recovered from it. Those who are in the recovery phase remain under the monitoring of the team’s medical committee,” Ehsan told PTI on Tuesday.

He also confirmed that skipper and batting mainstay Babar Azam and spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi were in good form.

The team trained at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
