World Cup 2023 top scorer: Mohammad Rizwan enters the top five while Virat Kohli drops to seventh; Check out the others on the list – Magazine Creations

As the 31st match of the ongoing World Cup was played between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Kolkata, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan has entered the list of top five batsmen who have scored the most runs in the ongoing World Cup in India. Mohammad Rizwan scored 26 runs off 21 deliveries not out while chasing the 204-run target set by Bangladesh. Mohamed Rizwan entered the top five, ahead of Aiden Markram from South Africa and Virat Kohli from India. However, Mohammad Rizwan has played an extra innings compared to both Markram and Kohli and both batsmen will look to improve in the upcoming match.

Here’s a look at the top ten batsmen who scored the most runs at the end of the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh:

Quinton de Kock from South Africa: 431 runs in 6 innings

Quinton de Kock, who has scored three centuries in this World Cup, is at the top of the list and is one of the main reasons for South Africa’s impressive performance in the World Cup.

Australian David Warner: 413 points in 6 innings

David Warner who has scored a few centuries is currently ranked second in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in the World Cup.

Rasheen Ravindra from New Zealand: 406 runs in 6 innings

Spotting the tournament, third on the list is New Zealander Rasheen Ravindra who scored a brilliant century against Australia in the mammoth chase. In the absence of Kane Williamson, the young man played his role brilliantly.

Rohit Sharma from India: 398 runs in 6 innings

Rohit Sharma, who has been instrumental in providing India with prolific starts, has moved up to number four after playing an excellent innings against England in Lucknow.

Muhammad Rizwan from Pakistan: 359 runs in 7 innings

Pakistan who had a dismal outing in the World Cup found their wicketkeeper-batsman scoring runs for them in the middle order. Mohammad Rizwan remained out in the 26th over as Pakistan chased down a 204-run target in Kolkata.

Aiden Markram from South Africa: 356 runs in 6 innings

The middle-order batsman has been in fantastic form helping his team achieve some big totals in the World Cup.

Indian Virat Kohli: 354 runs in 6 innings

Virat Kohli has been instrumental in some of India’s wins while chasing goals more than a few times. However, he was dismissed for O against England and was unable to add any runs in his sixth match.

Abdullah Shafiq from Pakistan: 332 runs in 6 innings

Pakistani opener Abdullah Shafiq is making the most of the opportunities he has been given as he once again played a crucial knock of 68 against Bangladesh and after Rizwan he is the second Pakistani batsman to enter the list of top 10 batsmen with the highest number of runs.

Sadira Samarawickrama of Sri Lanka: 331 runs in 6 innings

Sri Lanka’s middle-order batsman is having a good outing as Sri Lanka look to move up the table and the middle-order batsman will play a crucial role in that.

Darryl Mitchell from New Zealand: 322 runs in 5 innings

New Zealand’s middle-order batsmen have provided the team with much-needed impetus in the middle overs and played a brilliant innings against India in Dharamshala.
